Aimoji, 2019 Part of @mak_vienna Design Collection Using a Deep Convolutional Generative Adversarial Network (DCGAN) and a dataset consisting of 3145 individual, commonly-used Emoji as input we trained our model for 25 epochs to come up with new ones. Used extensively for the exhibition identity of "Uncanny Values: Artificial Intelligence & You" as part of the VIENNA BIENNALE FOR CHANGE 2019. Exhibition curated by Marlies Wirth and Paul Feigelfeld. https://sammlung.mak.at/ Photos: MAK #aimoji #processstudio #installation

How recyclable is a/your product? Find out now! We created a Circular Design Rules (CDR) tool for the Institute for Design Research Vienna: https://CDR.tools Answer a few questions about a product and get an impression how recyclable it is. You can use it as a designer or consumer to test your own products or somebody else’s. The CDR consist of nine indispensable rules in the design of recyclable products. It also describes practical steps to be implemented in the design of circular products. The end scorecard gives an overview of the circularity potential of products on the basis of the CDR. CDR is a research project by IDRV – Institute for Design Research Vienna in the framework of the New European Bauhaus Initiative. The rules have been selected from a comprehensive collection of design patterns, which could effectively introduce a positive system change. With a focus on mobile devices the CDR tool works on desktop, too.
