Circular Design Rules

Introducing a positive system change

Introducing a positive system change

Answer a few questions about a product and get an impression how recyclable it is. You can use it as a designer or consumer.

The Circular Design Rules (CDR) consist of nine indispensable rules in the design of recyclable products. It also describes practical steps to be implemented in the design of circular products. The end scorecard gives an overview of the circularity potential of products on the basis of the CDR.

CDR is a research project by IDRV – Institute for Design Research Vienna in the framework of the New European Bauhaus Initiative. The rules have been selected from a comprehensive collection of design patterns, which could effectively introduce a positive system change.

With a focus on mobile devices the CDR tool works on desktop, too.
