Editorial design and generative visualizations for University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien, the largest technical university of applied sciences in Austria.
All Study Components as the Basis of the Visualizations
All visualizations are based on a common grid pattern: Each grid point represents a study component at UAS Technikum Wien. So, the complete grid represents the wide range of study components on offer. Connecting the individual study components points enables numerous contents to be visualized: Curricula, Rooms and teaching staff – each individually, as a group or all together.
For example, one visualization shows a certain master’s program in which all the associated study components that appear in the curricula are linked together. This can not only be done for just one curriculum, but rather for all of them. The focus can also be placed on the teaching staff, showing, for example, all the study components delivered by one person.
The visual possibility exists to show the study components not only as a grid, but in a circle or spiral form, too. How- ever, the underlying system remains unchanged.
The cover of this report shows all study components of the 2019/20 academic year, alphabetically arranged according to name and placed as points in the grid – connected by the relevant curricula. The rear cover likewise shows all study components linked by curricula – but in this case the study component grid is arranged according to the name of the course. The entire grid – meaning all the study components plus title – can be found on the inside cover of this report.
